Saint November - At Duskby ~lookhappy

Saint November carries his burning cross. It's a long and lonely journey.
This was a very quick piece of artwork for a record label's compilation CD.

Black pencil on bristol board. Digital Colouring.

The client said when I pitched the sketch he imagined it would be set at nighttime, this is that version. The Daytime version is here: [link]

The night-time version really does push the contrast more, plus the fire seems more at home in a darker word. I do like the colouring of the day-time version though

Thanks so much for the comment! I agree about the fire looking better in the dark. The client picked the daytime one in the end because they had just imagined it would be set at night, so when they saw it they were really surprised in a good way
